As part of your license upgrade, you have a few requirements before you can proceed. Finding all the right info can be daunting and tricky. This is where we step in!
One requirement is having a reference letter from a Category C Keeper or dealer, that can attest to your experience. Luckily for you, I am both!
We now offer "Cat C Reference Letter" Training courses. This is designed specifically to test your capabilities in dealing with venomous snakes in a captive scenario.
This is not a simple "test" course. This is hands-on, and involves all aspects of captive husbandry, but dealing with potentially dangerous snakes.
Due to the nature of keeping venomous snakes, all participants of this course will need to demonstrate their ability and confidence in performing husbandry tasks such as;
* Safely removing a venomous snake from an enclosure for cleaning, and putting it back inside, in a safe manner.
* Learning how to 'tube' a snake to perform things like health checks.
* How to effectively and carefully pin a snake to grab it.
* Snake bite first aid;
Among other things.
We also delve into the other requirements you will need before you submit your license upgrade application.
WHY US?
In preparing this course, we have had multiple discussions with DBCA on what they expect to see in the applications, so we are equipped with as much knowledge as possible, to help you with your application.
I also have over 10 years experience in both relocating venomous snakes, as well keeping & breeding venomous snakes in captivity.
We are also offering Venomous Snake Handling & Relocation Training, which can be bundled with this course. Not only will you strengthen your license application, you can bundle and save!
At the end of the course, if we are both satisified, a reference letter will be signed and printed and/ or emailed to you for your submission.
*** If for whatever reason I - or even yourself - do not feel that you are ready to start keeping venomous snakes, a reference letter will not be provided. However, you will be able to return to do further training at no additional cost ***
THIS FOR CAT C ADVANCED/ UNRESTRICTED ONLY. There are other people that offer restricted Cat C training. where you can keep Cat C animals such as Olive pythons and monitors ONLY.
